auckland to rotorua

A bright early pick up at 7am from your accommodation sees us heading south through the rolling hills of the Waikato region on our road trip to explore New Zealands most active thermal region also well known as our Maori culture capital in which traditional Maori culture features widely.

AGRODOME FARM SHOW

As we enter the region of Rotorua we have the opportunity to enjoy a scene from our kiwi heritage at it's most elite.  The Agrodome farm show showcases the skills of the farm dog and you will learn everything that you ever wanted to know about sheep farming in New Zealand.

thermal wonderland

Our Rotorua adventure begins at a sprawling thermal park in the heart of Rotorua which is home to the Pohutu geyser, the southern hemispheres largest active geyser which erupts a few times each hour. The park is literally bubbling with thermal activity.  Join in on a guided tour and learn about Maori culture of this region and observe our iconic kiwi in a protected environment.

rotorua attractions

We have afternoon options including a soak in the natural thermal waters of the Polynesian spa, or perhaps a look around one of Rotorua's wildlife sanctuaries.  You may enjoy a ride up the Gondola to admire the view of lake Rotorua and surrounds, with the option of returning to the bottom of the hill via the luge.  Rotorua is packed with unique features and we have about 3 hours to enjoy our selected favourites.

Our action packed day will conclude at your accommodation by around 7.30pm.
